Jo Ann Loss, 82, of Rock Hill. SC passed away peacefully at home on June 10, 2026.
Born in Waterford CT, Jo Ann was the daughter of the late Russell Sherman, and the late Norma Chapman Sherman. She attended and graduated from Lyman Memorial High School in Lebanon, CT.
Jo Ann was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose greatest joy in life was her family and her grand pup Tatiana. Faith was a very important part of her life as she spent most of her working life as the church secretary for Adnah United Methodist Church and was a member of Forest Hill Church where she found fellowship.
Jo Ann is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 54 years, Phillip James Loss. She also leaves behind her son Michael Loss (Tracey) and daughter Karen Loss Whiting. She is further survived by her two grandsons Christian and Chase Loss, two beautiful granddaughters Michaela and Kennedy Whiting, her brother William Sherman (Denise), many nieces, nephews and cousins that she adored, as well as two special friends who meant so much to her, Suzy Decker and Barbara Hammond.
In addition to her parents, Jo Ann was preceded in death by her brothers Allen and Curt Sherman, her sister Regina Sherman and her precious grandson Dylan Whiting.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the compassionate staff at Caring Seasons Health, especially Tammy, Rhonda, and Jessica, for their care and kindness.
A Celebration of Life service will be announced by the family at a later date.
Those wishing to honor Jo Ann’s memory are encouraged to make a memorial contribution to Forest Hill Church, Miracle League of Rock Hill, or the York County Humane Society.
