Joann Crittendon, 77, of Rock Hill died July 26, 2026, at the Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, South Carolina. She was born February 27, 1949, in Abbeville County, South Carolina. Joann was the daughter of the late Dorsey Lee Rudder and Mary Jane C. Rudder. She was the wife of the late Charles Crittendon and was previously married to the late Wayne Montgomery. She is pre-deceased by her daughter (Kelly Ann Montgomery), her brothers (Ray Allen Rudder and Jesse Lee Rudder), and her stepmother (Jimmie G. Rudder).
Joann is survived by her grandson (Tyler Montgomery) of the home, her sisters (Joyce Hunter of Greenville and Gay Wilson of Rock Hill). Her extended family includes Carry DeLucca and children of Greenville and Claudia Mathis and children of Williamston, Erica Meade and Tenara Brooks of Rock Hill, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Joann spent part of her childhood at Connie Maxwell Children’s Home in Greenwood, South Carolina. She worked for several years in various positions at the Hoechst Celanese Corp.
Joann’s greatest aim in this life was to be the best mother and grandmother that she could be. She filled that role for many including, but not limited to, Kelly and Tyler.
Joann suffered in this life with many trials and troubles, but God is good.
