Joe Mack Couch, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2026, at the age of 84. Born on October 31, 1941, in the small town of Piedmont, South Carolina, Joe was the beloved son of Jerry C Couch and Sophia Bolin Couch.
Joe was predeceased by his siblings, Ronnie Couch, Tony Couch, and Susan Childers.
Joe was a devoted husband to Martha Hinson Couch, with whom he shared 62 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories.
Joe’s gentle spirit and unwavering dedication to his family were evident in the way he adored his daughter, JoAnn Couch, and grandson, Joseph Brandt Couch.
A man of integrity and honor, Joe served his country in the Army National Guard, where he forged lifelong friendships and displayed a sense of duty that would resonate throughout his life. Following his military service, Joe pursued a career as a mechanic, dedicating his skills to the maintenance departments of several companies. Known for his problem-solving abilities, Joe was the go-to person for friends and family alike whenever there was a mechanical challenge to tackle.
Joe’s love extended beyond his immediate family, encompassing his surviving siblings: Rhonda Griffin, Jane Stevenson, Peggy Helms, Ina Marshburn, Jeannie Murray, and Jerry Couch. He cherished each of them deeply and took great joy in their shared histories and family gatherings.
Though Joe will be greatly missed, his legacy of love, kindness, and generosity will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
