Fort Mill, SC – John Joseph O’Brien, 91, passed away on Friday, December 15, 2023 at White Oak Manor – Rock Hill.
The service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at Saint Philip Neri Catholic Church, 292 Munn Rd E, Fort Mill, SC 29715, with Father Fabio Refosco officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery, 4290 Old York Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
Born in New York, NY, Mr. O’Brien was the son of the late Patrick Joseph O’Brien and the late Agnes Feney O’Brien. He was a Special Forces Paratrooper in the United States Army. He was the Captain of the New York Chiefs Roller Derby team. The most important part of Mr. O’Brien’s life was his faith and family. He was a member of Central Church of God in Charlotte, NC.
Beloved husband of Teresa Alaimo O’Brien; Loving father of, Kevin John O’Brien, Michael Thomas O’Brien (Sandra), Mark Andrew O’Brien, Allison Teresa Townsend (Richard), and Paul Patrick O’Brien (Maryanne); Cherished grandfather of Connor, Devin, Anna Grace, Alana, Victoria, Juliana, Richard Matthew, Matthew, Megan, Emma, and James.
