Joyce E. Cauthen, 90, passed away on August 30, 2026, in Rock Hill, South Carolina. She was born on August 6, 1936, in Laurens, South Carolina, to the late Herman Simmons and Allie Mae Kay Simmons.

Joyce was born and raised in the Laurens-Hickory Tavern area. Her family moved to Rock Hill when she was 17 so they could work at Rock Hill Printing and Finishing Company, also known as the Bleachery. Joyce was a homemaker and prayer warrior. She enjoyed taking walks when she was able and loved her flowers. Above all, she loved God, her family, Pastor Reggie Hopkins, and her church family.

In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Olin D. Cauthen; son, Michael D. Cauthen; granddaughter, Kristy L. Cauthen; and great-grandson, Korey Cauthen.

Her family left to cherish her memory: her sons, Kenneth W. Cauthen (Maxine) and Keith Cauthen (Tami); grandchildren, Krystal Frink (Daniel), Kaleb Cauthen; great-grandchildren, Asa B. Frink (Avalon), Ian Frink, Eli Frink, Koa Frink, Abel Estes, and Joshua Estes; great-great-grandchildren, Oscar Frink and Eden Frink; as well as numerous other relatives and dear friends.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 830 North Jones Avenue, Rock Hill, SC 29730. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m.
