Rock Hill, SC – Mrs. Karen Denise Ferrell Nichols, 68, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 30, 2023.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023 at 11:00 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints-Catawba Ward, 1989 Reservation Road, Rock Hill, SC 29730. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00-10:45 am at the church. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
Born in York County, SC, Denise was the daughter of the late Jack and Alberta Ferrell. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints-Catawba Ward and worked with children all of her life. She took in many foster children over the years, and loved them as her own. She was a member and actively involved with the Catawba Indian Nation.
Denise is survived by her loving husband, Jerry W. Nichols; her daughters, Krista Nichols Webster and Jennifer Nichols Haynes (Michael); her son, Anthony W. Nichols (Karen); grandchildren, Brooklyn N. Durell (Bubba), Haley N. Head (Sammy), Morgan A. Webster, Conar Webster (Alexis), Mackenzie Nichols, Carmen Haynes and Dixon Murdoch; her great-grandchildren, Brody Durell, Kyler Durell, Dax Durell, Miley Head, Briggs Head, Ryan Webster, and Cooper Webster and her sister, Lorna Ferrell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Marsha Byrd; brother, Kevin Ferrell and granddaughter, Taylor Moser.
