Kathy Burton Hughes, 77, born on January 6, 1947 in Rock Hill, SC went home to be with the Lord on January 7th, 2024 surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Hughes was the daughter of the late William Edward Burton and late Lillie Mae Brazzelle Burton. She was also preceded in death by her son, Mark Holden Hughes, her sister, Connie Burton Turney, and sister, Patricia Ann McCurry.
She is survived by her husband, Jessie Jack Hughes; her two daughters, Shannon Hughes Doster (Donald Doster) and Dena Hughes Oates (Lee Oates); her brother, Richard E Burton; her sister, Glenda Burton Fields; her granddaughters, Jessica Doster Donahue (Billy Donahue) and Courtney Doster Phillips (Jacob Phillips); her great grandchildren Isabella Grace Donahue, Sawyer Bowie Phillips, Robert Stephen Billy Donahue III, and Rhett James Phillips.
Kathy was member of Calvary Baptist Church in Rock Hill, SC. She was a stranger to none and a friend to all. Kathy was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She showed her infinite love to others through her cooking. She will forever be remembered for her witty comments, sense of humor and timely eye rolls. But mostly, for her infectious laugh and heart of gold. She will be infinitely missed by all she loved and all who loved her.
Visitation will be at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel in Rock Hill, SC, on Thursday, January 11, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM. Burial will be private.
