Kayce Leigh Brookins, 39, of Rock Hill, South Carolina, passed away on June 30, 2026.
“The righteous perish, and no one takes it to heart; the devout are taken away, and no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil. Those who walk uprightly enter peace; they find rest as they lie in death.”
Born in Rock Hill, South Carolina, Kayce was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, granddaughter, aunt, and friend whose love for her family was the center of her life. She graduated from Paul Mitchell Cosmetology School and found joy in helping others feel beautiful through her talent for hair, makeup and nails. She had a caring heart and a gift for making people smile, both through her work and her kindness.
Above all else, Kayce cherished her family. Her greatest pride and joy were her sons, Bryson and Kohen Taylor. She also treasured every moment spent with her nieces, McKenzie Brookins and Marlie Brookins. Her world revolved around her boys, her nieces and the people she loved.
Kayce is survived by her mother, Tammy Rawdon Donald; her brother, Joshua Brookins; her beloved sons, Bryson and Kohen Taylor; her nieces, McKenzie Brookins and Marlie Brookins; her maternal grandmother, Ruth Rawdon; her maternal aunts, Jessica Cornwell and Rhonda Couch; her maternal uncles, Kristopher Rawdon and Rocky Rawdon; her paternal grandmother, Joan Brooks; her paternal aunts, Noelle Brooks and Lori Tatarka; along with many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Lee Brookins; her sister, Amber Rawdon; her maternal grandfather, Steve Rawdon and her paternal grandfather, Roy Brooks.
A celebration of Kayce’s life will be held July 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Bethesda Presbyterian Church, 4858 McConnells Highway, York, SC. A brief viewing will be held prior to the service for those who wish to pay their final respects. Interment will follow at the graveside, with lunch served afterwards for all family and friends who would like to stay and share in fellowship.
Although her time here was far too short, Kayce leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and beauty that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be remembered for the joy she brought to others, the love she poured into her family, and the lasting impact she made through her generous spirit. May those who mourn find comfort in God’s promise of peace and eternal rest.
