Larry Edward Snipes, 70, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2025, at Atrium Health in Pineville, NC.
Mr. Snipes was born on September 4, 1954, to the late Charles Fennel Snipes and Evelyn Grace Potts in York County, South Carolina. In his early life, Mr. Snipes served his country in the United States Army, United States Air Force, and the South Carolina State Guard. During his work life, he worked as a police officer for the city of Rock Hill and thoroughly enjoyed performing as a DJ at various events. He proudly ran the Rock Hill Junior Shag Club for many years and spent much of his free time golfing. He was the past president of the Rock Hill Shag Club and was heavily involved in the Junior Shag Club and the SOS at Myrtle Beach. He was also a member of the Lake Wylie Shag Club.
He is survived by his children, Larry Edward Snipes, Jr., Michael Scott Snipes, Charlie Mack Snipes, and William Edward Archie (Elise); his fiancé, Vicky McClure Walkup; his siblings, Wesley Snipes, Diane Snipes Kitchens (Bo), Charlene Snipes, his grandchildren, Mackenzie Archie, Hayden Archie, Kodi Preston, Wyatt Snipes, Damon B. Snipes and Rebekah Snipes; his mother-in-law, Janie Craig, his sister-in-law, Kay Hughes (Jim), and his brother-in-law, Bill Craig (Tina).
Preceding him in death are his late parents, his wife, Faye Craig Snipes, and his brothers, Vernon Snipes and Neil Snipes.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025 from 6:00-7:30 pm at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home for Larry Edward Snipes at 1:00 PM on Friday, February 28, 2025 with Reverend Jerry Devinney officiating.
