Rock Hill, South Carolina – Mrs. Laura “Peggy” Garrison Sarratt, 69, passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, May 3, 2024.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Catawba Baptist Church in Rock Hill, SC, with Dr. Ron Richardson and Dr. Tommy Huddleston officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the fellowship hall. Burial will be private.
Born in Rock Hill, SC, Mrs. Sarratt was a devoted wife to Robert Frank Sarratt for 48 years before his death in 2021. She was a bookkeeper at Belleview Elementary School for 34 years before retiring in 2020. A member of Catawba Baptist Church, she loved her church family. Peggy was a perpetual optimist, always full of the joy of the Lord. She cherished time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved her friends dearly, always faithful in praying for others and encouraging them in their walk with the Lord. Music was an important part of her life and she enjoyed fostering a love of music in Nicole & Cadence. She enjoyed cooking meals for loved ones, teaching at church, reading, and gardening.
Surviving are her mother, Mildred “Millie” Garrison of Rock Hill; her daughter, Nicole Kingsbury (John) of Rock Hill; her granddaughters, Cadence Kingsbury, Nevaeh Kingsbury, Mihkayle Mason, and Alys Zaslove; and her brothers David Garrison (Novella) of Union, SC and Richard Garrison of Rock Hill.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mrs. Sarratt’s name to Catawba Baptist Church, Mission Fund, 1450 S. Anderson Rd., Rock Hill, SC 29730; or to Prison Fellowship, Angel Tree, PO Box 1550, Merrifield, VA 22116.
