Rock Hill, SC – Mrs. Leila Eugenia “Gene” Parrish Auten, 78, passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Piedmont Medical Center, Rock Hill.
Graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at Forest Hills Cemetery, Old York Road, Rock Hill, SC with Reverend Jerry Devinney officiating. The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery.
Born in Lancaster, SC, Mrs. Auten was the daughter of the late Millard Benton Parrish and the late Mary Louise Sistare Parrish. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Millard Benton Parrish, Jr. She was a graduate of Erskine College, retired from Celanese Corporation with 35 years of service, and was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church.
Mrs. Auten is survived by her husband of 26 years, Truett Judson Auten; two sons, Jeffrey Benton Oliver of Salisbury, NC, and Gregory Bryan (Kelli) Oliver of Rock Hill; three grandsons, Preston Oliver, Judson Oliver, Brennan Oliver; a granddaughter, Bailee (Gage) Montgomery; two great-grandsons, Tristan and Drayke; many cousins, nephew and nieces.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mrs. Leila Gene Auten’s name to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, 2316 Randolph Road, Charlotte, NC 28207.
