You held my hand daddy,

When you taught me the basics

And then let me learn.

If I ever got stuck

I knew just where to turn.

You held my hand daddy,

When I was feeling blue.

I know without a doubt

I could always rely on you.

You held my hand daddy,

And dried all my tears

When I felt sad.

You let me know it’s okay,

And that it won’t be so bad.

You held my hand daddy,

You showed me the sunshine,

And then set me free

To be the best person

You raised me to be.

Now hold my hand daddy,

And show me the way,

So that I can go on without

You in the world today.
