Mr. Lewis Wayne Smith, 67, passed away peacefully surrounding by his children on Tuesday, March 12, 2024. Wayne was born August 02,1956 in Rock Hill, S.C., and the son of the late Louis and Margie Smith. He was also preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Francis Cook and his paternal grandparents, Freddie and Georgia Mae Smith.
Wayne worked at Quality Piers alongside his brothers and son. He loved spending time outdoors. He loved watching birds feeding at his feeder and growing a garden. He had a passion for searching and collecting arrowheads, stargazing, looking at the moon at night, and painting/drawing.
A Celebration of Life service will be held service will be held at 3:00 pm, Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Providence Baptist Church, 1947 Old Friendship Road, Rock Hill, SC with pastor Robert Ayers officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until time of service on Saturday at the church.
Wayne is survived by his children; Jason Smith (Crystal) of Chester S.C., Carrie Smith Perkins of Eufaula, AL, and Hannah Smith Kitts of Rock Hill, S.C.; his brothers Kenneth Smith (Gloria) of Rock Hill, SC, Darryl Smith (Sandy) of Rock Hill, SC, and Christopher Smith (Darlene) of Chester, SC; his grandchildren, Nicolas Smith, Zachary Smith, Christopher Smith, Destiny Smith, Madison Perkins, Colby Perkins, and Hadley Kitts; his great-grandchild, Sylas Smith.
He was a man that loved his children, grandchildren, and family fiercely. His legacy of his strong faith in God, unconditional love, kind heart, and his amazing smile will live on forever in the hearts of his family.
