Born on December 29, 1954, in Charlotte, North Carolina, Lyn was the beloved daughter of the late Edward J. Feeley II and Mary Ann Faggert Feeley. She was preceded in death by her cherished sister, Leslie Ann Franklin.
Lyn’s life was a testament to love, resilience, and the enduring bonds of family. She is survived by her devoted son, Alexander (Alex) Matzeit, and his wife, Marie, as well as her treasured grandson, Patrick Matzeit, who resides on John’s Island, South Carolina. Her legacy of kindness and warmth will continue through her sister, Laura Mullis, and her husband, Ben, of Rock Hill, South Carolina, and her brother, Edward (Trey) J. Feeley III, and his wife, Jeane, of Charlotte, North Carolina. Lyn also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who were touched by her generous spirit and unwavering support.
Lyn’s life was one of vibrant passions and cherished memories. She was a former member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Charlotte, where she cultivated lifelong friendships and shared her faith with her community. Her love for the arts was evident in her frequent attendance at Broadway shows, both in Charlotte and the bustling heart of New York. Lyn found joy in the shared experience of theater, where every performance was a new adventure. Her enthusiasm for sports, particularly NFL and college football, was infectious. Lyn relished the excitement of attending games, often surrounded by family and friends, united in their cheers and camaraderie. Her love for these moments of celebration and connection was a reflection of her zest for life and her ability to find joy in the simple pleasures.
A graveside service in honor of Lyn’s remarkable journey will be held on May 8, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Forest Hills Cemetery, located at 4290 Old York Road, Rock Hill, South Carolina. Family and friends are invited to gather to pay their respects and celebrate the life of a woman who touched so many hearts with her kindness and grace.
