Lola Watts Totherow, 86, of Rock Hill, passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior on November 6th, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on August 30, 1939, she was the devoted wife of the late Reverend Richard C. Totherow, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, faith, and family for 56 years. Together they faithfully served the Lord for more than 30 years.
Lola worked for many years in the textile industry and later within the Rock Hill school district, where she was known for her hard work and dedication.
She found joy in quilting, crocheting, and crafting beautiful things for her family and friends. She was also an exceptional cook, always serving family favorites at every gathering.
Lola cherished time spent with her family above all else. Some of her happiest memories were made during the family’s annual July 4th beach trips. Her home was always open, and she found her greatest joy in being surrounded by those she loved most.
She was preceded in death by her late husband, her late parents, Lemuel E. Watts “Ed” and Hattie Bell Faile Watts; her children, Teresa Ferguson and Ricky Totherow; her four brothers, Jimmie, Bonnie, Tommie, and Frank Watts, and her sister, Iva Mae Addison.
She is survived by her three daughters, Penny Cobb (Rick), Shanta Pressley (Elvis), and Karen Nunnery (Jonathan); her grandchildren, Jared Ferguson (Vicki), Jason Starnes (Leslie), Chad Ford (Rosa), Jennifer Barker, Britney Totherow, Brooke Ferguson, Cody Pressley, Candi Baker (Trevor), Caitlyn Catledge (Dylan), and Timothy Nunnery; her sisters, Patsy Dobbins, Betty Miller (Joe) and Mattie Haire and 15 great-grandchildren; as well as her dear friend Beverly Ann Watkins.
A visitation will be held on Monday, November 10, 2025, from 10:00-11:00 AM at Providence Baptist Church, 1947 Old Friendship Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29730. A funeral service will follow at the church beginning at 11:00 AM, with Dr. Jim Neal and Reverend Ben Winn officiating. Interment will follow after the service in the church cemetery.
