Rock Hill, SC – Lou Amzler, 93, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 4, 2025, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill surrounded by his family.

Lou was born on April 29, 1931, to the late Frank E. Amzler and Anastasia Pollack, in Carteret, NJ.  He was a dedicated Christian originally from Carteret, NJ where he met his childhood sweetheart Joan.  Together they raised three children and were married for 70 years at the time of his passing.  Lou worked for Costa Ice Cream for 29 years as Operations Production Foreman before moving on to start his own Home Improvement Business.  While Lou is no longer with us his Legacy lives on in the hearts and minds of those he touched.  Lou was a dedicated husband and parent.  He was a proud United States Air Force veteran serving during the Koreon War as an F-80 Fighter Plane Crew Chief.  Lou was always an active member of the community.  He was a member of the Masons, long term volunteer fireman and a member of the Lions Club where he was a past president.  Lou enjoyed time with his family, RV travel and attending many live sporting events, especially NASCAR.  His generosity, love, wit, and humor will be missed.

In addition to his loving wife, Joan, Lou is survived by his son, Glenn Amzler (Dawn); daughter, Jill Jones (Wade); grandchildren, Lynsey Cooper (Benjamin) and Kimberly Albree (John); and great-grandchildren, Noah, Victoria, Logan, Evan and Avery.  He was also survived by his precious cat, Willow.  Lou was preceded in death by his parents, and his son, Douglas Amzler.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Episcopal Church of Our Savior, 144 Caldwell St, Rock Hill, SC 29730.
