Mr. Lowell D. Saunders, Sr., 87 years old, met his Savior on Friday morning, May 8, 2026, surrounded by his family.
Lowell Saunders, Sr., was a native of Christiansburg, Virginia. Son of Roy K. Saunders and Dora Irene Davis. Lowell served his country in the Army, stationed mainly in Germany. He is a graduate of Snead State College in Alabama and Upper Iowa University in Iowa. Lowell retired from Chemstrand and Monsanto after 32 years, and worked 10 years as a home inspector. He was also owner of The Rusty Hinge Antiques. Lowell was a faithful member of Providence Baptist Church of Rock Hill, SC.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Roy Saunders, Jr., and Donald Saunders, and sisters Rose Marie Pearce and Jean Bright.
Lowell is survived by his wife of 64 years, Bonnie Spivey Saunders, sons Lowell D. Saunders, II (Kathy) and William K. Saunders (Tracy), and his sisters Aleeta Dolge and Judy Green. Grandchildren Christina Marshall (Daryn), Stephanie Montana, Sabrina Lopez (Isidro), Brittany, Stephanie, Emoni, Eniyha, and Corey Saunders. Great grandchildren Trent, Abby, Sadie Mae, Caroline, Jaylynn, Gyda, Sylas, Riven, Noah, Egypt, Kingston and Londyn.
Memorial service will be held Monday, May 11th, 5:30 pm at Providence Baptist Church in Rock Hill, SC.
