Heaven welcomed Margaret Simmons home on Sunday, April 19, 2026. She passed away peacefully at Willow Brooke Court at Park Point Village, Rock Hill.
Born in Rock Hill, daughter of the late Carl W. Belk and the late Willie Rodges Belk. She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years and the love of her life, Curtis L. Simmons, her 2 grandsons, Kevin Carter and Ashley Simmons; her brothers, Charles Belk, Jimmy Belk and sister, Nancy Weatherford.
Margaret lived life simply with underlying love and devotion to her family and friends. Most of all to her God and his church that she served. Best remembered for her witness to touch lives with love, sweetness and kindness.
Margaret is survived by her children, Leon Simmons, Sandy Wilson (Robert), Gayle Carter, Steve Simmons (Miriam); her sister, Judy Ferrell; her brother, Buddy Belk (Joyce), as well as her 2 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.
The family would like to give a special thanks to her beloved church family of First Baptist Church, who have been a constant support with visits, many prayers and love in the past years when she was unable to attend church. Also, a special thanks to the entire staff at Park Point Village nursing center for their loving care – She truly loved each of you – As well as Providence Hospice Care, they are truly angels.
Family will hold a private burial, they invite family and friends to a Celebration of life service that will take place on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at 2:00p.m. at First Baptist Church, 481 Hood Center Drive, Rock Hill, SC 29730. Prior to the service, the family will welcome friends starting at 1:00p.m.
