Marie was the eldest child of Antoinette and Lucien Marino, who with her younger brother, Nicholas, grew up in Yonkers, NY. After graduating from high school, she attended the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City where she learned to design and create women’s clothing. She met the love of her life, Frank Rubbo, and were married January 7,1956. They had 4 children, Michael, Toni, Denise, and Eric. The family eventually moved to Pleasantville, NY. During the time of raising her family, she took up painting and her artwork has always adorned the homes of her family. In her final years, she found great joy in returning to her artwork. Marie had a successful career in Real Estate and enjoyed times with her family at their Jersey Shore beach house. Upon retirement, Frank and Marie moved to Tega Cay SC where they were active at St Philip Neri Catholic Church, the Vintage Club and Dorothy Day Soup Kitchen. She made many lasting friendships which endured throughout her lifetime. She is predeceased by her husband in 2020 and is survived by her 4 children, Michael Rubbo (Karen), Toni Clear, Denise Upham (Dwayne), and Eric Rubbo, her grandchildren, Michael Rubbo, Lisa Sipe, Melissa Clear, Jessica Piccarello , Christopher Upham, Andrew Clear and Alison Rubbo, and 4 great grandchildren, Logan Rubbo, Adeline Sipe, Emilia Sipe, and James Piccarello. All her children loved her dearly, and were able to be with her in her last days.
Her funeral will be at St. Phillip Neri Catholic Church in Fort Mill on Monday February 24 2024 at 1PM.
