Rock Hill, SC – Mary Alice Martin, 77, peacefully passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2026.
Born in York, South Carolina, Mary was the daughter of the late James Woodrow Stamper and the late Gladys Taylor Stamper.
Mary enjoyed going to the mountains with her husband, she also found great joy in reading and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
Mary is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, John David Martin; her daughters, Carol Morris and Nancy Brasington (Greg); and her grandchildren, Shelby Wad (Ray), Joshua Morris, Hannah Snodgrass (Andy), and Mason Brasington (Kelsey). She was also the proud great-grandmother of Hayden Blanchard, Tristan Snodgrass, Rylan Snodgrass, and Skylar Snodgrass, and she looked forward with excitement to the arrival of another great-grandchild, Wade, expected in September.
Mary is also survived by her brother, James Stamper, and a special sister-in-law, Mary Hill, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her sister, Frances Gowans, and her brother, William Beam.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mary’s honor to Providence Care Hospice of Rock Hill.
