With hearts full of both love and sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved Mom and Memaw, Millie Taylor Boyce, who passed away peacefully on June 9th, 2026 at the age of 94.

Beaufort born and bred, she was the much-loved daughter of B.E. Ginn and Ola Brant Ginn.

Millie enjoyed a long career in real estate, both as the owner of her own brokerage and an instructor to many aspiring agents.

She was an active member of councils and governing boards to help drive wise decisions in the town she loved.

Even more visible, was her passion for the history of Beaufort and having fun sharing that.

Millie could be seen in full Victorian era dress providing tours of the local Pick Pocket Plantation, serving as Docent to speak to the history of the Baptist Church of Beaufort, or guiding carriage tours through Beaufort’s historic streets.

She was even known to make ghostly appearances at the annual Ghost Tours for CAPA (Child Abuse Prevention Assoc)

As a notary, Millie officiated countless marriages over the years, but forewarned the prospective bride and groom that they got a full wedding message of faith and Godly foundation as part of the deal.

She treasured the many ladies that were a part of “Taking Tea with God”, an organization she co-founded while working with A Little Piece of Heaven Tea shop in Port Royal.

As a mom, she didn’t hesitate to take on duties like being the den mother of the cub scout troop, and braving lake day and beach wave fun while hiding her own fear of water, so that her son would grow up loving it. (at age 73 she finally took lessons at the Y and learned how to swim)

Her first love, Jack Taylor, was the classic Paris Island Marine story as he swept her away from Beaufort to live among the yankees. She adapted to life with each move to another city, new friends, new challenges of “making home”, far from home.

Later life decisions brought them back to Beaufort to enjoy their final years together at Lands’ End. Enjoying mornings of coffee and ocean views. Entertaining friends and family with fresh caught seafood and a lesson that Millie could out-eat anyone seated around a mountain of Frogmore Stew.

With Jack’s early passing at age 49, Millie found years of companionship with her second husband Tom Boyce as they enjoyed walks along the waterfront park and participating in all the flavor that is the Low Country.

At Age 90, Millie finally agreed that it was time to move to family in Rock Hill where she focused on enjoying her most favorite thing of all…grands and great grands.
