Nellie A. Box Boone, 93, passed away on August 28, 2026, at her home.
Nellie was a native of Grafton, Ohio, and was the daughter of the late Clyde and Lucy Box.
She retired from Armstrong and Shaw Industries in 1995. She was a member of the American Legion and a lifetime member of the VFW. She later worked for Macy’s from 2002 until her retirement in 2013.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Boone; her sister, Margarete Fatz of La Grange, Ohio; her brother, George Box of Grafton, Ohio; and Betty Box of Alexandria, Virginia.
Nellie is survived by 3 children including Johnny J. Horace, Lou Ann Hamilton, and Linda Horace Brooks. Including their 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 4, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, with Pastor Jon Morgan officiating and Christine Morgan will play the piano. Interment will follow at Unity Cemetery in Fort Mill, SC.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
