Rock Hill, SC – Olin Flow Plyler, Jr. of Rock Hill, SC passed away peacefully on May 4, 2024 at his home.

A graveside service for Olin will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, May 10, 2024 at Catawba Methodist Church Cemetery, 4785 College Road, Catawba SC, 29704. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 9, 2024 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732.

Olin was born in Catawba, SC on April 18, 1932 to the late Olin Flow Plyler, Sr and the late Mary Rachel Brown Plyler. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Melba Jean Potts Plyler; his second wife, Earlene Plyler; his daughter, Lisa Gale Plyler; his son, Donnie Plyler; and his sister Lib Plyler. Olin graduated from Rock Hill High School and later from York Technical College.

Olin owned and operated the Catawba Junction Convenience Store for many years. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and retired from service after 21 years. Olin loved riding side by sides, especially trips to Tennessee. In his spare time, he found happiness in carp fishing, gardening, and browsing at flea markets. He also enjoyed reading Cowboy and Indian books, leaving behind quite a library.

Olin was devoted to his partner in crime, Jennifer Kline. In addition to Jennifer, he is survived by his son, Terry Plyler (Robyn); his brothers, Roy Leonard Plyler and Gerald Hubert Plyler (Jean); five grandchildren, Joshua Plyler (Laurie) of Indian Land, SC, Jay Wright (Candice) of Rock Hill, SC, Linda Davis (Rob) of Rock Hill SC, Jennifer Blackmon (Mike) of Lancaster, SC, and A.T. Plyler of Kershaw, SC; nine great grandchildren; the family of Earlene Plyler; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Crescent Hospice, Right At Home (Valerie), and to Ken and Nancy Houston for their excellent care and compassion.
