Rock Hill – Mr. Orin Finley Jackson, Jr. 91 of Rock Hill went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at his home.
The family will receive friends at Westminster Presbyterian Church – 1320 India Hook Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29730 at 11:30am on Friday, April 26th, 2024. Funeral Service will be at 12:30 with Jonathan Taylor officiating. The burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park, Cherry Road.
Born in Lancaster County, Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by his beloved wife Doris Roach Jackson of 57 years. He was the son of the late Orin Finley Jackson, Sr (Audrey) and Clara Baker Jackson. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Tommy and Larry Jackson and sister Jeanette McDonald. He attended Westminster Presbyterian Church and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, affectionately known as “Poppa” by family and friends and “Poppa-Bear” by the great-grandchildren. Mr. Jackson was an avid gardener and outdoorsman, he loved to hunt, fish and work in his wood making shop. He loved the Atlanta Braves and spending time with all his grands and great grands on Sunday afternoon for lunch after church.
He retired from Rock Hill Printing and Finishing Company (The Bleachery) as a shop mechanic. Surviving included his loving daughters, Debbie Jackson Adkins (Tim), Donna Jackson Andrews (Mike), Denise Jackson Trull (Mike), and Deanna Jackson Dills (Ronnie) all of Rock Hill. Nine Grandchildren – Lindsey Gibson Hunnicutt, Lauren Andrews Hall, Jackson Jennings Andrews (Meaghan), Madison Trull Smith (Tyler), Carson Trull Sturgis (Mark), Garrett Alexander Trull (Neely), Coleman Grant Trull, Ronald Kyle Dills and Christopher Logan Dills.
15 great-grandchildren – Kyle Ferguson, Emma Hunnicutt and Cameron Dansereau, Nolan, Payton and Hudson Hall, Kennedi, Waylon, and Caroline Andrews, Kruiz, Ryker and Pence Smith, Riley and MJ Sturgis and Rhett Dills.
Surviving also is his sister Carolyn Jackson Skidmore of Richburg, SC and his brother David Jackson of Florida.
