Patricia Lynn Cooper Gentry, 92, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at Willow Brooke Court at Park Pointe Village in Rock Hill, SC.
Mrs. Gentry was born on December 23, 1933, to the late Grover Cleveland Cooper Jr. and Laura Mae Young Cooper in Columbia, SC. Growing up, she had a very happy childhood. She loved her parents deeply and also fondly remembers her time spent staying with her grandparents while her father served in World War II. Following her graduation from high school, she achieved an Associate’s Degree in Business from Columbia College. Throughout her life, she was very devoted to her family and Oakland Baptist Church. She served as a deacon and as a teacher of numerous Bible study groups. Mrs. Gentry was also very active in various ladies organizations and committees. Above all, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandparent, and great-grandparent. Her joyous smile will be remembered by all those who knew her.
Mrs. Gentry is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 65 years, Joseph Edgar Gentry; and her daughter, Joni Carole Gentry.
She is survived by her children, Laurie Cook (Jerry) of Winston-Salem, NC, and Patti McCormick (Steve) of Sunset, SC; her grandchildren, Julia Page (Don) of Fuquay Varina, NC, Anna Laura Davis (Mike) of Wilmington, NC, Kristin McCandless (Tyler), and Ashley Newman (Drew) of McKinney, TX; and her great-grandchildren, Whitaker Page, Sutton Page, Levi McCandless, and Jack McCandless.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Greenhaven Memorial Park, 12795 Highway 221, Woodruff, SC, 29388.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, April 20, 2026, in the Community Room at Park Pointe Village, 3025 Chesbrough Boulevard, Rock Hill SC 29732.
