Rock Hill, SC – Patricia Morrison, 87, passed away on Wednesday, March 1st, 2023, at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House.
Mrs. Morrison’s funeral service will be held at 1:30PM on Sunday, March 5th, 2023 at Oakland Baptist Church, 1067 Oakland Ave., Rock Hill, SC 29732. Her family will begin receiving visitors at 12:30PM at the church, and the burial will follow the service.
Patricia Keener Morrison was born on April 19th, 1935, to the late Spurgeon Keener and Mary Ruth Auton, in Maiden, NC. She graduated from Maiden High School, where she played basketball. Throughout her life, she devoted time to volunteering for Oakland Baptist Church, where she remained an active member for over fifty years. Notably, she worked on the Bereavement Committee, where she provided meals to families in need. Additionally, she served in the nursing home and church nursery, and participated regularly in her Sunday School class. Patricia was passionate about world-traveling and did so through organizations such as Christian Tours, Silver Fox, and Merry Makers. She enjoyed singing old hymns, water-skiing, camp meetings and revivals, gardening, and watching her soaps. She also stayed current in contemporary political and social events.
She is survived by her daughters, Trudy M. Tant (m. Leonard Tant Jr.) and Julie M. Smith (m. Brad Smith); her grandchildren, Maia Wellborn, Noah Smith, Mallory Smith, Rachel Kehoe (m. Sean Kehoe II), and Andrew Tant; and her great-grandchild, Sean Kehoe III.
Mrs. Morrison was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Morrison, and her parents and stepfather, Spurgeon Keener, Mary Ruth Auton and Roy Auton.
