Rock Hill – Mrs. Patsy Sue Merritt, 70, passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2023 at Piedmont Medical Center.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, February 17, 2023 at Laurelwood Cemetery, with Rev. Mark Crews officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside.
Born in Rock Hill, SC, Mrs. Merritt was the daughter of the late Samuel S. Stone and the late Dorothy Harrill Stone. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Tommy Stone and Ralph Stone; her sisters-in-law, Connie Stone and Jane Stone; her brother-in-law, Richard Weaver, and her niece, Julie Stone. She was retired from Lance and was a member of West End Baptist Church. She was a loving sister, wife, mother and grandmother and cared for her family and friends. She enjoyed Christmas and holiday cooking and gatherings and will be greatly missed.
Surviving are her husband of 47 years, Stanley W. Merritt, Jr.; her son, Brandon (Madison) Merritt of Clover, SC; her daughter, Crystal (Benjamin Wohlers) Merritt of Simpsonville, SC; four grandchildren, Piper Merritt, Skylar Merritt, Brandon Merritt, and Iris Merritt; two brothers, Johnny (Cindy) Stone and Ken Stone; her sister, Gloria Weaver of Rock Hill, SC; her sister-in-law, Brenda Stone; and many nieces and nephews.
