Peggy Crump, 72, passed away on April 3, 2026. She was born on September 9, 1953 to the late Perry and Elaine McMurray.

In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her husband Roger Crump of 48 years.

She is survived by her daughter, April Hunter (John); her grandchildren, Dillion Hunter (Amy) of Goose Creek SC, and Colton Hunter of Catawba SC and her great-grandchild, Jensen Hunter of Goose Creek SC.

She was a machine operator for most of her career with Laminex. She was a hard worker her whole life and truly loved her job, working faithfully all the way to the end.

She was a wonderful and devoted mother to her only daughter, loving her unconditionally and standing by her through everything. She was also a proud and loving MawMaw to her two grandchildren and her great-grandchild, who meant the world to her. She cherished every moment with them and made sure they always knew how much they were loved.

She loved her dogs Gracie, Baby and Buddy like family and spent much of her time with them. She also loved flowers, hummingbirds, home decorating, shopping on QVC and Elvis Presley.

She had a generous heart and was always giving to others, never asking for anything in return. She will be remembered for her kindness, her strength, and the love she showed to everyone around her.

My mother had a big heart for animals and wanted nothing more than to help them. She asked that, instead of a service, friends and family remember her with a donation to the Humane Society of York County, 8177 Regent Parkway, Fort Mill, SC 29715.
