Peggy Jo Reed, 74, passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was born on October 31, 1951, in Asheville, NC, to the late Jack Byrd Sr. and Margie Allison.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Don Reed; her brothers, Ronnie Byrd and Jack Byrd Jr.; and her sister, Sherry Harrington.
She is survived by her children, Randy Snelling, Donald Reed (Carla), Tammy Poole (Richie), Cheryl Fulks (Ray), and Kandy Poole; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Peggy loved Christmas and enjoyed decorating her home. She was known for her big heart, giving spirit, and strong-willed personality. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved having them around her. She also shared a special bond with her beloved fur baby, Stella. Peggy was not only a mother to her own children but also a mother figure to many others.
A memorial service will be held at 5:00 PM on Sunday, November 1, 2026, at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 4:00 PM at the funeral home.
