Rock Hill, SC – Ralph Bundy McGuirt, 84, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at his home.

A graveside service will be held at Forest Hills Cemetery on Friday, December 29, 2023 at 2:00 pm, with Larry Nunn officiating.

Born in Rock Hill, SC, Mr. McGuirt was the son of the late Hugh McGuirt and the late Fannie Lillian Tinkler McGuirt.  He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Buck McGuirt, Pete McGuirt, and Jake McGuirt; and his sisters, Frances Nunn, Faye Cooper, Martha Lucas, Lucille Turner, Mildred Timmons, and Rachel Sweatt.

Mr. McGuirt enjoyed working at JP Stevens until they closed. After his time there, he went on to work at Westinghouse, where he retired. He always enjoyed Gospel music, with The Gaithers being his favorite group. Mr. McGuirt loved to fish in his younger years and in his later years, that is all he would watch on TV. He loved to see pictures of his great-grandchildren and he enjoyed watching videos of them when they couldn’t visit. Woodworking in his shop was a loved pastime and he could also be found working in his garden. Mr. McGuirt loved to tell stories and make people laugh. He never met a stranger. Most importantly, he loved the Lord and loved his family well. Mr. McGuirt was a member of First Baptist Church in Rock Hill, SC.

Surviving are his spouse, Barbara Ann Ross McGuirt; his son, Scott (Anne) McGuirt of Rock Hill, SC; his daughter, Tracy M (Troy) Butler of Rock Hill, SC; his brother, Roger McGuirt of Rock Hill, SC; four Granddaughters, Erica (Justin) Johnson, Morgan (Heath) Brugh, Emily McGuirt, Lauren McGuirt; three great-grandchildren, Crew Johnson, Tate Johnson, Holland Brugh. The family would also like to thank his caregiver, Judy Minter for her love and support.

The family will receive friends at the home from 4:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2023.
