Mr. Richard “Dick” Dean Allen, 86, passed away Monday, September 8, 2025, at Piedmont Medical Center.
Born in Enid, Oklahoma, Mr. Allen was the son of the late B.C. Allen and Ruby Teeters Allen. He proudly passed on the chance to be a pitcher and play for the Boston Red Sox to finish his college degree at Phillips University. Making this decision led to Mr. Allen to a successful career in business. He spent 45 years in the communications industry, was a terrific salesman, and rose to become the VP of Marketing. He was a phenomenal athlete throughout his life, and especially loved golf. Mr. Allen’s passion for people could be seen in all aspects of his life and he always loved socializing wherever he was. He loved his family very much and also had a strong affinity for golden retrievers.
Mr. Allen is survived by his loving wife, Sarah H. Allen; his daughters, Denyse Teal, Andrea J. Van Dyke, and Allison R. Van Dyke; his grandchildren, Jewell H. Van Dyke and Chad Eric Kincer; and four great-grandchildren.
Memorial Service will be on Saturday September 27, 2025 hosted at the First Baptist Church of Rock Hill at 11:00 AM with visitation following services.
