Rock Hill, SC – Mr. Richard Donald Salay, 63, passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 in Mooresville, NC.
Memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, September 24, 2023 at Living Waters Chapel at Westminster Park, 4000 India Hook Road, Rock Hill, SC with Elder Carol Allen-Freeman officiating. The family will receive friends at his home.
Born in Plant City, FL, Richard was one of three sons of Karen Brouillette (Al) Brazil. He was employed for 34 years in the concrete industry, the last 10 years with Concrete Supply. Richard had many hobbies, and was happiest in the great outdoors. In his free time, you could find him enjoying hiking, fishing, hunting, camping, and gardening. He also loved to work in his shop, cooking on his smoker, and spending time with his family. He attended Saint Anne Catholic Church.
In addition to his mother and step-father, Richard is survived by his wife of 20 years, Tammy McManus Salay; two sons, Joshua (Candice) Salay of Rock Hill, and Todd Trotter of Great Falls, SC; three daughters, Shelly (Kamal) McClean of Montgomery, AL, Brittany (Jordan) Griggs of Rock Hill, Haley Code of Rock Hill; nine grandchildren he adored; two brothers, Chris Salay of Ellicott, NY, and Stephen Salay of Rock Hill.
