Union, SC – Richard Lloyd Pierce, 77, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 26, 2026.
Born in Fairborn, OH, Mr. Pierce was the son of the late Raymond R Pierce and the late Sarah Keisler Pierce. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Daryl Dozier Pierce.
Mr. Pierce proudly served in the United States Air Force. Spending time and working with other veterans was a top priority. He spent much of his free time volunteering at the VFW in Rock Hill. When he wasn’t at the VFW, he was studying genealogy and researching his family history.
Surviving are his nieces, Catherine Casey, Candi Smith, and Laury Wilson; and his nephew, John Nettles, Jr.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mr. Pierce’s name to the VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars), Post 2889, 732 W. Main St., Rock Hill, SC 29732.
