Mr. Robert Marion Mitchell passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center.
Born June 6, 1978 in Rock Hill, Robert was the son of John Hoyt Mitchell, Jr. and the late Joyce Hovis Mitchell. Robert was a long-time hotel security professional where he was considered and treated as family. He was a rock-solid human as evidenced by his devoted commitment to his mother’s care until her death, as well as his father’s care until his own passing. Robert had an infectious laugh that was unmistakable to all who heard it. His passions in life were simple, but extremely meaningful to him. He was a lifelong pro wrestling fan and was a connoisseur of film and movies. He was also an avid video gamer and a meticulous collector of video game related media. Robert was a man of few words and possessed a quiet strength that was unmatched by most.
Robert is survived by his father, John Hoyt Mitchell, Jr. of Rock Hill, and his brother, John “Jay” Howard Mitchell of Mount Holly, NC.
