Spartanburg, SC – Mr. Robert Melvin Lowder, 83, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 20, 2023.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 27, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732. Visitation will be held prior from 12-12:45 pm at the funeral home.
Born in Fort Mill, SC, Mr. Lowder was the son of the late Frank Lowder and Clara Deese Lowder. He retired from Celanese and worked for many years at Cherry Park as an umpire for softball games. Mr. Lowder was also a boxer and enjoyed playing golf. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Donna Parks Lowder.
Mr. Lowder is survived by his daughters, Donna Roberts and Patti Copeland; six grandchildren, Jennifer Beasley, Lisa Elliott, Brooke Elliott, Julia Elliott, DJ Elliott and Brianna Hyatt; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Phyllis Phfier and Patricia Taylor; and three brothers, Jesse Lowder, Ricky Lowder and Jack Lowder. He was preceded in death by his daughters, Cheryl Lowder and Sherrill Hyatt; son, Robbie Lowder; granddaughter, Debra Roberts, sisters, Betty James, Marie Ferrell and Francis Players; and four brothers, Wayne Lowder, Jerry Lowder, Billy Lowder and Rayford Lowder.
