Rock Hill, SC – Mr. Roger Jackson Humphries, 77, passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2023 at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 12, 2023 at Lakewood Baptist Church, 3520 Mount Gallant Road, Rock Hill, SC with Reverend Jerry Devinney officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery following the service. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC.
Born in Smyrna, SC, Mr. Humphries was the son of the late Fred Humphries and the late Nellie Louise Roberts Humphries Hubbard. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Charles Leonard Humphries, his sister, Brenda Marilyn Humphries Clark Hamlin. He was retired from General Tire Corporation with 30 years of service. He enjoyed spending time with family, fishing, shag dancing, working on cars, CB radio repair, and home improvement. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church.
Mr. Humphries is survived by his wife of 56 years, Brenda Martin Humphries; his son, Brad Humphries of York, SC; his daughter, Lori (Dickie) Sistare of Catawba, SC; his sister, Velver (John) Humphries Payseur of Charlotte, NC; his three granddaughters, Heather (Joe) Ziranski of Rock Hill, Brittany (Joseph) Barrientes of Lake Wylie, SC, and Savannah (Justin) Woody of Chester, SC; five great-grandsons, Caleb, Eli, Lincoln, Waylon, and Oliver.
