Rock Hill, SC – Roger Lynn Hess, 70, of Rock Hill, SC passed away November 8, 2023, at Piedmont Medical Center after a brief illness. Roger was born in Parkersburg, WV, to the late Edward Vernon and Marjorie Irene Watson Hess of Spencer, WV.
Roger was retired from Grief Packaging in Charlotte, NC with over 40 years of service. He was a 1972 graduate of Spencer High School. He loved his family and friends and was always ready to help them, whatever the situation. Among his pastimes was his love for Ford Mustangs and traveling. He was a Christian.
Left to cherish his memory is his devoted wife of 49 years, Deanna (Knopp) Hess, special brothers-in-law Roger Knopp of Mt. Alto, WV; Philip (Debbie) Knopp of York, SC; Kyle (Norma) Knopp of Spencer, WV and nieces. Kimble (Andrea) Knopp of Rock Hill, SC and many wonderful and special nephews and nieces.
Including his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Hess and his sister, Sharon Hess.
Following his wishes, Roger was cremated. A private celebration of his life is planned for the family in the near future. Roger will forever be loved and remembered.
