Rock Hill, SC – Ronnie D. Whitley, 11, passed away on January 24, 2025. He was born in Rock Hill, SC on January 3, 2014.
Ronnie is survived by his parents, Ron and Jessica Whitley; brothers, Clinton Whitley, Johnathan Kopp, Michael Kopp, and Jesse Whitley. He was preceded in death by his sister, Stephanie Whitley. Ronnie also loved his second family, Mount Holly Elementary School.
Ronnie loved playing with his cars, little men, and dinosaurs—anything dinosaur-related. His favorite movie was The Good Dinosaur, which he watched daily, often multiple times a day. He’d reenact the scenes, imagining himself as the little dinosaur. Ronnie also looked forward to school, where he enjoyed the company of his teachers and classmates. He loved riding the bus too. Every morning, he’d eagerly watch for it, and in the evening, he’d wait until it was completely out of sight before heading inside.
There will be a service on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at 3:30 PM at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC, 29732. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 2:30 PM. The interment will take place at Grandview Memorial Park – Cherry Road, 620 S. Cherry Road, Rock Hill, SC, 29732.
