Ronnie “Ron” E. Keiber, age 78, was surrounded by family when he passed away peacefully on April 2, 2026, in his home in Rock Hill, SC.

Ron was born on August 27, 1947, in Celina, Ohio, to the late Vernon and Beatrice Frey Keiber. He always carried God in his heart. He was a devoted member of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Rock Hill, SC. There, he had a close relationship with Pastor John.

After graduating in 1966 from St. Mary’s Memorial High School, he went on to receive his associate’s degree in Criminal Investigation at The Ohio State University. In high school, he was an avid football player, with friends on the team nicknaming him “The Bull” due to his skills. Ron was also passionate about baseball, basketball, and even wrestled in his youth. This hard work paid off, and as of his fifty-year reunion, he had maintained the highest batting average at St. Mary’s.

Shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the Army, where he was honorably discharged. He never let go of his patriotic spirit, however, and joined the St. Mary’s Police Force, where he received the Carnegie Medal for heroically saving two lives from a life-threatening car crash. He served on the force for eight years before embarking on a thirty-year successful career with the United States Postal Service.

Ron was always an active member in the community; when he wasn’t travelling, he hosted cookouts and pool parties with friends and family. He always made time to work small jobs for friends, family, and local businesses in the Rock Hill area. Another way he loved to connect with his loved ones was his favorite game, Rummikub.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, April 19, 2026 at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until time of service at the funeral home.

Ron is survived by his loving children, Melinda Wagner (Paul), Amy Bobruk (Anthony), and Jeffery Keiber (Allison); grandchildren, Dillen King, Zenna Bobruk, Cameron Keiber, Jacob Smarzik, and Matthew Smarzik; great-grandchildren, Emmett (Holeigh and Noah); sister, Susan Keys; close friends, Wayne Massey, Jerry Goodwin, Dirk and Gay Tanis, Lee Dove, the Henry Family, and the Dugger Family.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Doris Smarzik Keiber, and sisters, Patricia Paul and Sharmon Hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Covenant Presbyterian Church.
