Ronnie “Rags” Arthur Goins passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
Ronnie was born in Stokes County, North Carolina on June 4, 1951, to his late parents, S.A. Goins and Zollie Beatrice Dunham Goins. Growing up, Ronnie worked in the tobacco fields and learned to provide at a young age by his family. The skills of providing and working hard transferred into his adult life, where Ronnie to this day is remembered for being a strong dedicated family man to his loving his wife and children. He was a devoted husband to his late wife, Joyce, and loved spending time with his family. In his career, Ronnie worked at Duke Energy as a nuclear fuel handler and was the reactor head maintenance tech at the Catawba Nuclear Plant. In his pastime, he loved watching NASCAR and westerns, and drinking hot black coffee while tinkering with projects. He was beloved by his family and will be dearly missed.
He is survived by a son, Jon Arnett (Beth), and a daughter, Heather Arnett (Donnie). He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Hanna Arnett (Andrew), Noah Arnett (Claudia) Trey Arnett, Ashton Aldridge (Emily), Christian Huffstetler (Alexys), Jonathan Smith (Bergen), Jacob Arnett, Ryland Arnett, and 3 great grandchildren, Emmalyn, Jax, and Zephyr.
Preceding him in death are his late parents; his loving wife of nearly 30 years, Joyce Ann Goins; and his daughter, Rhonda Leigh Goins.
A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025, at 5:00 PM at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road in Rock Hill, SC. The family will welcome visitors prior to the service, beginning at 3:00 PM, at the funeral home.
