Sandra Justine Barker Martín (Sandy) went home to be with our Lord at 8am October 31, 2026 after an ongoing, courageous battle with chronic pulmonary issues. Her high school sweetheart and husband of 44 years was by her side.

Sandy was born January 19th at 8am on a snowy West Virginia morning in St Albans and looked forward yearly to her “birthday snow”. She was preceded in death by her father, James Preston Barker and her stepsister, Sandra Adams Bachelder.

Sandy is survived by her husband, Donny Martin; mother, Phyllis Adams; stepfather, “Daddy” Gene Adams; sister, Marsha (Tim) Seller; stepbrother, Andy (Tammy) Adams; niece, Heather Adams; and her 5 beloved cats, Jackie, Georgie, Sissy, Tobie and Bunny, who miss their Mummy very much.

Sandy graduated from Northwestern High School and earned her degree in Office Technology from York Technical College. Her work career was varied; from food service at PoGenes Seafood and Burger King during high school to office management at Wylie Brothers Monuments, Charter Realty, and Town & Country Realty. She loved working and socializing with all the Rock Hill realtor community. She retired from her own rental property management company Carolina Rental Resources in 2016 as her health began to decline.

Sandy enjoyed music of all kinds, especially singing in the Fort Mill Church of God ‘Sounds of Praise’ choir from 1998-2005. YouTube reaction videos to the songs she loved were a favorite pastime.

She founded her custom jewelry making business, Clarabelle’s Creations, named for her dear Grandma Gabby, after retiring. Setting up shop at festivals and bazaars with friends Christie Spencer and Carol Gaston held a particularly special place in her heart.

To know Sandy was to love her. She was kind, compassionate and generous with her time and her love.

A celebration of life service will be held at Mt Holly Methodist Church, 1996 Mt Holly Rd, 29730 on Sunday November 8, 2026 at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the service and other times at her home, 2081 Fordhill St, Rock Hill, SC, 29732.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Richardson Rescue, 1968 Garvin Rd, York, SC 29745 or other community service close to your heart. She would be pleased with whatever you choose.
