Sara Ann Dixon Pressley, 91, passed away on April 24, 2026 at her home in Ocala, Florida. She was born on May 8, 1934 in Chester, South Carolina to the late Floyd W. Dixon and Sara McDill Dixon.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Ross Pressley and brother and sister-in-law, Floyd Jr. and Sarah Kirkpatrick Dixon.  She is survived by her daughter Linda (John) LaSelva in Ocala, Florida; grandchildren Danielle (Sean) McGrath in Colorado Springs, Colorado, John “JJ” (Blake) LaSelva in Jacksonville, Florida, Sam LaSelva in Ocala, Florida, and Joshua (Blake) LaSelva in West Hartford, Connecticut; and two great grandchildren Grady and Annalynn McGrath with a third on the way.

Sara graduated from Chester High School and Kings Business College. She then worked for Southern Dairies, Southern Bell, and Park Street Baptist Church in Columbia, South Carolina.

Sara and Ross were married in 1955.  She was a devoted wife and mother who spent her time tending to the needs of the family, raising Linda, and volunteering.  She enjoyed playing bridge, being active in the garden club, and being a homeroom mom.  She was a true South Carolinian and loved her state.  She moved to Florida after Ross died to be closer to her daughter’s family but stayed firmly rooted in her love of South Carolina. She also loved her church and served in the preschool department and other ministries.  Sara liked to travel to new places but not without stopping along the way to check out the wildflowers along the road.   She loved flowers and birds – especially the Carolina Wren.
