Rock Hill, SC – Shirley Simms Blackerby, 91, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.
Born in Greenville, SC, Shirley was the daughter of the late Samuel E. Simms and the late Grace Griffin. She is also preceded in death by her Husband, Davis Patrick Blackerby, Sr., and her son, Davis Patrick Blackerby, Jr. Shirley was a devoted member of First Baptist Church-Rock Hill.
Shirley is survived by her children, Deborah C. Blackerby, Patricia B. Giles (Billy), Virginia L. Blackerby and Joel E. Blackerby (Jeanette); her daughter in law Nora Faedo; her grandchildren, Taylor Blackerby (Olivia), Weston Blackerby (Karina), Samuel Aaronson, Savanna Blackerby, Olivia Blackerby, Mary Caroline Giles, Daniel Giles (Grace) and Elle Blackerby; as well as 3 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
One of the most important things, Shirley trusted Christ as her Lord and Savior and her belief in his goodness and faithfulness never wavered.
Burial will take place at Forest Hills Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Shirley’s name to First Baptist Church 481 Hood Center Dr. Rock Hill, SC 29730.
