Rock Hill, SC – Vernoia L. Hatcher,76, went home to be with The Lord on Friday, April 25, 2025, at his home in Rock Hill, SC.
Vernoia L. Hatcher was born on February 15, 1949, to the late William Pierce Hatcher and Mahulda Johnson Hatcher in Flat Top, WV. Mr. Hatcher was known as a very hard worker. He worked in the coal mines for 28 years and also worked for many years in the construction industry. He enjoyed helping his sons with work and enjoyed working heavy equipment. In is free time, Mr. Hatcher loved his garden, his animals, Dolly Parton, and especially his family. He also loved God very dearly and was a loving husband and father throughout his life. He and his family loved taking trips to the mountains of Maggie Valley and will serve as strong memories of their time together.
Mr. Hatcher is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Carolyn L. Hatcher; his children, Ronnie Hatcher (Laura), David Hatcher (Sharon), and Darrell Hatcher (Frances); his sisters, Virginia Lilly, Ina Durham (Marty), Serilla Barnett (Frank), and Betty Stafford (Jim); his four grandchildren, Ronald, Thomas, Dalton, and Kaleb Hatcher; his four great-grandchildren, TW, Caperton, Ava and Rafe Hatcher.
He was preceded in death by his late parents; his brothers, Rudolph, Arland, and Doug Hatcher; and his sister, Evelyn Hatcher Vaught.
A graveside service for Mr. Hatcher will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at Forest Hills Cemetery, 4290 Old York Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
