Rock Hill – God has a new angel. Victoria (Vicky) Seigler Knox, born August 7, 1943, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2023. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend to many. She was the daughter of the late Martha and Calvin Seigler. Vicky was an excellent, caring teacher at Lesslie Elementary School in Rock Hill. She taught 1st graders and 2nd graders for 30 years. She was also a mentor to several Winthrop College students preparing to become teachers.
Vicky was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church in Rock Hill for over 57 years. She served as a Sunday School teacher, UMYF counselor, Lay Representative to SC Annual Conference, President of the United Methodist Women, and other offices through the years. In her early years, she was a member Grace Lutheran Church in Rock Hill.
She dearly loved her family. Any time there was a reason for a family gathering, she wanted to be present. Vicky especially loved the family trips with aunts, uncles, and spouses crammed into a 16-passenger van. Two of the most enjoyable trips were to Louisiana Cajun country and a trip around the Great Lakes. Immediate family trips included two trips to the West Coast, the Outer Banks, Alaska, beach, and mountains.
Vicky was an avid reader with a book in hand if possible. She loved the beauty of nature that God provides, especially sunrises and sunsets. Vicky was also a great cook with many favorite dishes that were enjoyed by others. Vicky loved the Clemson Tigers. She attended many football and basketball games throughout the years. In her later years she avidly watched her Tigers on TV.
Vicky is survived by her loving husband, Frank R. Knox; her daughter, Susan Knox Sheppard (Chris); her brother, Charles Wallace Seigler (Betty Sue); her nephew, Chad Seigler (Tiffany); her niece, Leslie S. Dunnett (Mike); and her beloved grandson, Jackson Thomas.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, from 6:00PM to 7:30PM at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at Epworth United Methodist Church at 11:00AM on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, with Rev. Irvin Plowden officiating.
