Vivian Trader Baskin West, 96, of Rock Hill, SC passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House.

Born in Rock Hill on July 15, 1927, Mrs. West was the daughter of the late Claude Gordon Trader and Bertha Hunter Trader. She was the widow of Thomas Hugh Baskin, Sr. (56 years) and Mendell “Pete” West (19 years). She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Claudine T. Ramsperger, Bill Trader, Donald Trader, and Carol T. Totherow.

Mrs. West was a beautician and owned her own business, Vivian’s Beauty Shop. She loved working with her hands and could always be found sewing, crocheting, quilting, baking, or gardening. Her talents blessed many people over the years.

A loyal servant of God, Mrs. West was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church. She was faithful in prayer, reading her Bible, and telling others about the Lord. She served as a Sunday School teacher and loved to sing in the choir for many years. While her earthly journey has ended, she is now in the arms of her Lord in her eternal home.

Mrs. West is survived by her sons, Thomas H. Baskin, Jr. (Rita) and William “Donny” Baskin (Sherry) all of Rock Hill; her grandchildren, Michelle B. Mellichamp (Randy) of Lancaster, Thomas H. “Trey” Baskin, III (Kim) of Rock Hill, and Mason Williams of Lincoln Park, Michigan; six great-grandchildren, Nathan, Madison, Andrew, Caleb, Ayden, and Ansley; and four siblings, Charles Trader, Harold Trader, Darold Trader, and Martha Trader.

The celebration of life service will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 12, 2024, at Lakewood Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Mellichamp and Rev. Jerry Devinney officiating. Viewing will take place prior to the service and interment will be at Grandview Memorial Park, 620 S. Cherry Road. The family will receive friends immediately following the graveside service.
