Rock Hill, SC – Vonda Coleman went to be with her Lord on Saturday, May 3, 2025. She was 88 years old.

Vonda was born in Fort Worth, TX to Leroy and Theresa McCully and lived there until she attended Baylor University where she met and later married the love of her life, Harold “Bo” Coleman. Eventually they moved to Rock Hill in 1966 and began raising their family. She was the wife of a minister for 64 years and a member of Oakland Baptist Church for 58 years. Vonda ministered to her church family by creating and sending holiday and birthday cards to the veterans, college students, and high school graduates of the church, and to the children at the Connie Maxwell Children’s Home.

Vonda was predeceased by her husband, Bo, her father, LeRoy McCully, her mother, Theresa Mc Cully, and her stepmother, Ora Mae McCully.

She is survived by her two daughters, Wendy Snipes (Tim) and Jennie Kay Coleman; her two granddaughters, Brett Longstreth and Kellie Swindale (Mike); five great-grandchildren, Liam, Caroline, Dean, Kenzie, and Mae; her brother, Pete Hoyt; her sister, Marilyn Gordon; and several nieces and nephews.

Vonda was a faithful Christian who lived every day for God. She enjoyed spending time with her family, many types of crafting, and had created personalized scrapbooks for everyone in her family.

A memorial service will be held at Oakland Baptist Church, 1067 Oakland Ave, Rock Hill on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation immediately following. Vonda will be laid to rest in a private service in the church’s Prayer Garden.
