Edgemoor, SC – Mr. Wade Henry Bailey was born on November 14, 1933 to Cade and Winnie Proctor Bailey.

He graduated from Lewisville High School and joined the Army. He married the love of his life, Nancy Simpson Bailey before departing to Germany for Army Duty. Nancy followed him to Germany sometime later. Upon his return from Germany, he went to work for Manetta Mill0s then Rock Hill Printing and Finishing and later retired from Celanese Fibers. He was a life time member of Harmony Baptist Church and served as a deacon. Wade and Nancy were very active in the bus ministry. They would visit homes in the area on Saturday and on Sundays they would drive the bus and pickup many children and some adults to attend Sunday school and church services, then take them home afterward. It turned out to be a life changing event for Wade.

Wade had been in bad health for some time, but died peacefully in the care of his health care team. Wade loved them very much. They were very gracious to him by having birthday parties, decorating his home for Thanksgiving and Christmas. They also took him to their homes for barbecues and other events. Elaine Baxter and her team would also take Wade for rides through the countryside sight-seeing and getting ice cream. We will be eternally grateful for the care that they gave him.

Wade was the widower of his beloved wife, Nancy Simpson Bailey. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Gale Jerolmon; his brother-in-law, David Jerolmon; sister-in-law, Jennie Lynn Simpson; brother-in-law, Jerry Simpson; sister-in-law, Judy Simpson and numerous nieces and nephews.
