Richmond Hill, GA – Mr. Willard “Will” Eugene Greene, 73, of Richmond Hill, GA formerly of Rock Hill, SC, passed away July 1, 2023.

Mr. Greene’s Celebration of Life service will be Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 11:00 am at Greene’s Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC with Reverend Lee Davis officiating.

Mr. Greene was the son of the late Arthur Harding Greene Sr. and the late Frankie Lee Lanter Greene. He was preceded in death in addition to his parents by his nephew, Scott Greene. After attending college at Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, TN, he joined the United States Navy where he was enlisted for seven years.  After completing electronics school at Treasure Island, CA he went on several tours of duty aboard the USS Dixie. Mr. Greene retired after 38 years in the retail scale industry with Toledo Scales, Inc. and then with their distributor out of Charlotte, NC, Delta Scales, Inc. He was an avid sports fan, both playing and watching!  You will never find a more loyal University of Tennessee follower.  He loved coaching Little League baseball through the years, first for his son and recently for his grandson where he was fondly known as “Coach Grandpa” by the team.  He was a member of the James K Polk Masonic Lodge in Pineville, NC.  He loved fishing, playing golf, gardening and a cold beer on a hot summer day.

Mr. Greene is survived by his college sweetheart and wife of 47 years, Annette Eldridge Greene; two sons, Heath Gradon (Amy) Greene of Richmond Hill and Luke Preston Greene of Rincon, GA.; three grandsons, Gradon L., Jackson H and Ellis J Greene of Richmond Hill; his three brothers, Arthur H Greene, Jr, of LaFollette, TN, his twin brother, Edward R. (Anita) Greene and Henry F Greene both of Maryville, TN; his two sisters, Jessica Christensen of Alcoa, TN, and Julia Jackson of Maryville, TN; also a host of nieces and nephews.
