Rock Hill, SC – Willard James Jordan, 98, passed away on Friday, January 5, 2024 at his home.
The service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, January 14, 2024 at Eastview Baptist Church, 1430 Gordon Road, Rock Hill, SC 29730, with Rev. Chris Mitchell and Rev. Larry Nunn officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in Eastview Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 2:00 pm-2:50 pm.
Born in Hartsville, SC, Mr. Jordan was the son of the late James Heyward Jordan and the late Clotel Benton Jordan. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Neely Jordan, and his 3 brothers, Earl Jordan, Bill Jordan, and Fred Jordan. He was retired from Rock Hill Printing and Finishing and Springs Industries with more than 4 decades of service. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy aboard the USS Atherton DE169 and was a WWII Veteran. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Jordan loved being outdoors and enjoyed reading.
Surviving are his sons, Larry Jordan (Angela) of Katy, TX and Robert Alan Jordan of Rock Hill, SC; his daughter, Sherry Jordan Howe (Darrell) of Pendleton, SC; 4 grandchildren, Joshua Jordan, Matthew Jordan, Jennifer Gadson and Melanie Howe; and 4 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mr. Jordan’s name to Eastview Baptist Church 1430 Gordon Rd., Rock Hill, SC 29730.
